I started DI in third grade and participated for 2 years as a team member. I worked on the fine arts and engineering challenges. After that, I started helping DI as a scoring room runner and then a Time Keeper/Announcer. I have helped set up the engineering challenge on the Western slope every year. I have also helped at state every year as a score runner and as a TKA.
I’ve been a DI kid since fourth grade, totaling nine years. I have competed in Global Finals five times, although I’ve qualified six times. My team and I have won 1st place at many regional and state tournaments, as well as earning several special awards. I’ve also volunteered in DI by serving as a team manager for a team of second graders, teaching kids about video editing and animation for a DI summer camp and being a member and contributing to the DI teen leadership committee. The whole process of starting with a massively open-ended problem and working together as a team to come up with a creative solution is something that I love. Every time we have qualified for Globals my team has worked until the very end. Every year I put in everything I have into making something that I am proud of. From cool costumes, to intricate set pieces, to technically innovative contraptions, and even animations that take over one hundred hours to complete, it was all worth it.
I have been a team member in DI since 3rd grade. I have participated at three different schools, making teams with friends from all three: Crowne Pointe Academy, STEM Academy, and Jefferson Academy, have all played a role in my Destination Imagination experience. For the last few years, I have been a member of the DI teen leadership committee and I assist in helping make DI magical and fun for everyone involved.

DI Competitor, 2010-2014 (South Metro Region, St. Mary’s Academy), 2014 Global Finals Champion (Scientific Challenge) DI Teen Leadership Committee Member, 2017-2021 (South Metro Region, Regis Jesuit High School)
I started DI in 2017, my freshmen year of high school! I showed up to auditions having not known what DI even was, or that it was even an audition. I had a blast for an hour and afterward, I got a text saying I made the team. Our team was called Here Comes Treble! and we did the Improv challenge all three years. We made a TON of improvements throughout the years and I'm proud to say we made it to globals two years in a row, which was amazing! In the team, I didn't have an official role, but my main job was to pick up the card and read it; Or because of my shorter hair, I was the guy, which of course became a major running joke in our all-girl team.

Hi! I’m Kenny Hora, an 11-year-long participant in DI in one way or another. From 2nd grade to 9th grade, I was a participant on a DI Team and placed at regionals and state many times, earning special awards along the way. I’ve been to Globals 3 times and earned a Globals-level Rennaissance Award for building guitars out of cardboard. Last year, I was a first-time team manager for a middle-level team. Right now, I serve as a co-chair of the DI Colorado Teen Leadership Committee, planning DI After Dark and other events to reach out to as many DI Colorado students as possible.
I have been in DI since 1st grade. I’ve been a team member for 12 years, competed at gloabls 6 times, been on the state teen leadership committee for 4 years, and volunteered for 6 years.
