Destination Imagination teaches kids valuable life skills while entertaining audiences

When you watch a Destination Imagination competition, you may not know what’s going on.

It seems nonsensical, however, it really is the result of a detailed, complex and educational process.

“If you go to a tournament, you see the end,” said Kris Beisel, director, educational alliances and training of Destination Imagination. “You see the weird story you don’t understand and the props don’t make sense to you because you didn’t understand the challenge. You don’t get what the kids have done — they’ve done what grownups have to do.”

Like “grownups,” the kids (from kindergarten to high school) have to collectively solve a problem using specific materials and scenarios.
