Let your favorite youngsters try a creative experience as unique as they are!
Early learners from preschool through second grade can also participate in a non-competitive approach to our Challenge Experience. Our Early Learning Challenge is an opportunity for them to be creative, learn simple building and construction, become comfortable working in teams, and learn how to speak in front of an audience. This Challenge lets kids play and experiment with their solutions without the pressure of competition.
This developmentally appropriate challenge teaches creativity and the creative process. In the Early Learning Challenge, the Adult Leader teaches team members about creative and critical thinking by providing activities that will allow them to learn by doing. Along the way, the team members will experience the fun of the creative process through experimenting, designing, and building. The team will also learn about successful and unsuccessful attempts, along with the importance of doing something again to make it better.
Further this challenge encourages independence. Team members explore, examine, and try things on their own. Let your team make decisions about its solution to the Challenge. Teach your team how to use tools safely and how to work with various materials. Encourage the team members to do the tasks themselves and with their teammates, but be there to show, help, and teach, especially when signs of frustration appear.
Our Early Learning teams are celebrated at their regional tournament. They show their solution in front of friends, family and our appraisers. They get feedback and awarded a medal. They are welcome to stay and watch older teams and dance at the closing ceremony!
