Southwestern Colorado schools from Telluride south to New Mexico and Pagosa Springs west to Utah – plus Creede!!

The 2018-19 Destination Imagination Season is under way, with teams coming together, selecting their challenge, starting their research, dreaming up solutions…

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO START A TEAM!!   The DI RoadMap resource has a flexible meeting agenda designed to help Team Managers guide their Team through the DI creative process in 10 or so meetings. Of course some teams may choose to meet more than that, some less. Even starting later in January, Teams can still meet 2 or 3 times per week and totally do DI!

DI Drop-In – Tuesdays in January

1/22/19 4:00-7:00 PM
1/29/19 4:00-7:00 PM

Location: San Juan BOCES office: 162A Stewart Street, Durango

Stop by the BOCES office on Tuesdays in January, 4-7 PM, to print hard copies for your Team, ask questions, use our computer, get help registering for the tournament, browse through our Instant Challenge Library, or just say hello!

Do none of these dates work for you? Or can you not make it to Durango?   We can come to you to try and help with whatever you need: work with Team Managers, do an instant challenge with Teams, help Team Managers complete the tournament registration…  Just contact Sheila and let us know how we can help!!

Tournament Registration Open!

Once you have your Team Number, set -up your online DI account, and claim your Team, whew, then you go to to sign-up for the Southwest Colorado Regional Tournament!  The process is the same as last year, with these two separate but connected websites working together to collect the details about your Team, including your Team Name, basic contact information for Team Members, which Challenge you will be presenting, any special concerns for tournament day…
Then we are so lucky in Southwest Colorado to have the full support of all of our schools and districts – as far as I know, all of our schools will be able to pay for their Teams to attend the Regional Tournament this year.  Simply click the “pay by check” button at registration and I will send an invoice to your school.
**  Individual Team Managers do not (typically) need to pay
with their own private credit card  **

Team Manager Information about Background Checks

  1. Managers who are teachers or other school employees may submit a scan or photo of their teacher license number and their current district ID to Rob.
  2. Managers who are not school employees should check with their school office and follow their volunteer procedures. We do not need a copy of their report, just an official acknowledgment from the school that a background check has been passed and is on file.
  3. If neither of these options are suitable, you may use Verified Volunteers through our State Office– Click Here. Our “Good Deed Code” is veq92lv. There is a non-refundable fee of approximately $25.Please contact Sheila at 970-764-7550 or if you have any questions!
