Who Qualifies for Global Finals
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners including ties will be invited to attend Global Finals.
Lottery: DI Colorado has been given the opportunity to enter all 5th and 6th teams into the Global Finals lottery.
On April 13, 2020, DIHQ will be selecting and inviting teams from the lottery to attend Global Finals
Teams need to accept and register within 48 hours.
How To Prepare For The Possibility Of Going To Global Finals
Before the state DI tournament, you MUST meet with your parents, school, and school district about the possibilities of placing at the State Championship Tournament and earning an invitation to Global Finals.
You MUST accept or decline your invitation by Wednesday April 8, 2020.
Discuss how your team might arrange quick financing to the tournament. The cost of the event is $5,500 per team exclusive of room, board, and travel.
The most important date to remember is Friday, May 1, 2020!!!This is the deadline for all Global Finals services, including online registration, credential signups, pre-ordered food selections and hotel blocks.
So if your team gets a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place, what does this mean?
Your team is invited to represent Colorado at the Global Finals Tournament on May 20– May 23, 2020, Kansas City, MO, with arrival on the 18th or 19th. You and your team will need to raise about $5,500 per team plus room, board and transportation.
Team managers need to attend a short meeting right after the awards ceremony to discuss the next steps.
You, the team manager(s) or a representative, need to attend the mandatory “Going to Globals” breakfast and meeting on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. The breakfast will be in the Tivoli Tower 440 There is no charge to attend and continental breakfast is included.
